Drift-Dive

PADI Drift Diver Specialty

The PADI Drift Diver Specialty course teaches you how to enjoy going with the flow as you scuba dive down rivers and use ocean currents to glide along. It feels like flying – except that you’re underwater using scuba equipment. Drift diving can be relaxing and exhilarating at the same time. If this sound like fun, then the Drift Diver course is for you. The Drift Diver course is to include two open water training dives.

PADI Drift Diver Specialty, Age 12+

Along with drift diving techniques and procedures, you’ll:

  • Receive an introduction to drift diving equipment – floats, lines and reels.
  • Get an overview of aquatic currents – causes and effects.
  • Practice with buoyancy control, navigation and communication during two drift dives.
  • Learn techniques for staying close to a buddy or together as a group as you float with the current.

Deep-Dive

PADI Deep Diver Specialty Course

Experience the thrill of diving to greater depths. Explore the Deep with the PADI Deep Diver Specialty Course!

If you’ve earned the PADI Adventure Diver rating or higher, and you’re at least 15 years old, you can enroll in the Deep Diver course.

Your training starts by reviewing reasons for deep diving and how important it is to know your personal limits. During four deep dives with your instructor, you’ll go over:

  • Specialized deep diving equipment
  • Deep dive planning, buddy contact procedures and buoyancy control
  • Managing your gas supply, dealing with gas narcosis and safety considerations
Wreck-Dive

PADI Wreck Diver Specialty Course

Wrecks are irresistible – intriguing and exciting to explore, and teeming with aquatic life. Open a fascinating window to the past with the PADI Wreck Diver Specialty Course!

PADI Wreck Diver Specialty, Age 15+

Be certified as a PADI Adventure Diver (or have a qualifying certification from another training organization similar to that of a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver.)

The 2 day PADI Wreck Diver Specialty Course is designed to familiarize divers with the skills, knowledge, planning, organization, procedures, techniques, problems, hazards and excitement of diving on wrecks.

You’ll complete Wreck Dive One and Two, diving in the 18 – 30 m depth range. You’ll swim around the outside of the wreck, navigate back to your ascent point, identify and avoid potential hazards, locate points of interest and survey the wreck for possible penetration.

Wreck Dives three and four are conducted in the 18 – 40 m depth range. You’ll deploy and retrieve a penetration line, and practice maintaining contact with this without stirring up any silt on the outside of the wreck. You’ll then plan and perform actual wreck penetration with a dive light!

PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty, Age 10+

The 1 day PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty Course is designed to enhance your diving experience through knowledge development and skills training – teaching you to precisely weight yourself for optimum control, poise and balance.

You’ll complete 2 PPB dives. Practice pre and post-dive buoyancy checks, trim, streamlining, efficient fining and breathing techniques, hovering in different positions and have some fun with our buoyancy games and obstacles!

PADI Underwater Naturalist Specialty Course

PADI Underwater Naturalist Specialty, Age 10+

The 1 day PADI Underwater Naturalist Specialty Course is designed to each student divers to view the aquatic ecosystems objectively, and understand the intricate interactions and inter-relationships between underwater organisms.
You’ll complete 2 Naturalist dives, within your designated depth limit (according to prior certification level). You will identify 2 types of aquatic plants, 4 types of vertebrates and 4 types of invertebrates whilst demonstrating minimal passive and responsible interaction and diving techniques. You will also locate and identify a number of inter-relationships demonstrating symbioses, and keep aware for signs of human effects upon the environment. You’ll no longer see ‘fish’, but individual species with distinct strategies for surviving in a complex, interactive ecosystem. You’ll begin to understand some of the inter-related survival tactics that allow quite unexpected creatures to live side by side!

PADI AWARE Fish ID Specialty Course

PADI AWARE Fish ID Specialty, Age 10+,

The 1 day PADI AWARE Fish ID Specialty Course is designed to familiarize divers with fish identification basics for the most common families and species throughout the world, and involve people personally in the conservation of marine ecosystems.
You’ll complete 2 Fish ID dives, identifying fish by placing them in appropriate family groups, draw diagrams and describe characteristics of unfamiliar fish, then attempt to identifying specific species when possible. You’ll also complete a Fish Survey recording abundance and habitat information when possible.

PADI Underwater Navigator Specialty Course

Master challenging, yet fun underwater navigation skills. Be the diver everyone wants to follow and make your sense of direction legendary with the PADI Underwater Navigator Specialty Course!

PADI Underwater Navigator Specialty, Age 10+

The 1 day PADI Underwater Navigator Specialty Course is designed to familiarize divers with the knowledge, planning, procedures, natural and navigational instrument techniques and skills, and fun of underwater navigation.
You’ll complete 3 navigation dives at around the 6 -12 m depth range. Your instructor will demonstrate useful pre-dive observations which make underwater navigation easier, before you practice a range of natural and compass skills throughout the dives. You’ll learn to set the headings on your compass, estimate distance, swim and lead a pre-determined course, use navigation patterns, locate a previously identified object and even create your own map.

PADI Search & Recovery Specialty Diver Course

Develop the techniques involved in systematically locating and retrieving lost articles. Not only are these skills fun, but very practical and ultimately useful. Find small-medium objects within recreational depths & environments with the PADI Search & Recovery Specialty Diver Course!

PADI Search & Recovery Specialty, Age 12+

Be certified as a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver, Junior Advanced Open Water Diver or have a qualifying certification from another training organization.

OR

Be certified as a PADI Open Water Diver, Junior Open Water Diver and PADI Underwater Navigator Specialty Diver or have qualifying certifications from another training organization.

The 2 day PADI Search & Recovery Specialty Diver Course is designed to teach effective ways to find objects underwater and bring them to the surface. Small, large or just awkward, there is a way to bring them up.

In  first two Search and Recovery dives, you will complete searching areas of 15m x 15m to find a small object, 30 x 30m, and 18m x 18m to locate an object up to 10kgs in weight when negatively buoyant. You’ll tie a bowline, sheet bend and two half-hitches and surface the object using a lift bag.
You’ll complete 2 further Search & Recovery dives, searching an area of 60m x 60m using the Jackstay pattern, then rig and surface said object. For your final dive you’ll organize, plan and conduct a search & recovery dive -choosing the appropriate pattern and lift method based on facts presented before the dive.

You’ll complete 2 Photography dives, having prepared the underwater camera, and practice basic underwater photo techniques while diving in an environmentally friendly manner. You’ll adopt the PADI SEA method (Shoot, Examine, Assess) for getting great shots quickly and practice three primary principles for taking good underwater photos.

Much of the world’s best scuba diving is accessible only by boat. Whether you’ve never made a boat dive or you’ve logged dozens, the PADI Boat Diver Specialty course will benefit you because boats in various parts of the world do things differently. Scuba diving from a boat is fun and relatively easy because you usually descend directly onto your dive site.

PADI Boat diver Specialty, Age 10+

The purpose of the PADI Boat Diver Specialty course is to familiarize you with the skills, knowledge, procedures, techniques, problems, hazards and enjoyment of diving from a boat. The course covers knowledge of dive boats, proper boat diving etiquette, basic dive boat terminology and includes important boat diving skills such as entries/exits, use of emergency/safety equipment and enables you to plan, organize and conduct safe dives. The course includes 2 open water dives.

PADI Night diver Specialty

Whatever the motivation to dive at night – you will find that the environment is quite different. You will see the same, familiar creatures that you usually see, but doing different things – like trying to sleep. The philosophy of this course is to focus on seeing in the dark things you miss seeing, or that appear differently during daylight dives. During the 3 dives required to complete the course you will develop the techniques involved in night diving while avoiding disturbing the delicate marine life.

This course expands your knowledge about night diving equipment, evaluating dive conditions at night, using and maintaining dive lights, night navigation techniques, and how to interact responsibly with the aquatic life you see while night diving, plus introducing yourself to a whole new cast of critters that come out after the sun goes down.
